Collection: Kansas

The Kansas state flag features a dark blue field with the state seal in the center, surmounted by a sunflower on a twisted bar of blue and gold, and the word "KANSAS" below the seal. The state seal depicts a landscape including a rising sun, a river with a steamboat, a farmer plowing, a wagon train, and buffalo being pursued by Native Americans. Thirty-four stars on the seal represent Kansas as the 34th state admitted to the Union. The sunflower above the seal is the state flower, and the phrase "Ad astra per aspera" (to the stars through difficulty) is found on the seal.
